“Kimmi did an amazing job of photographing our small backyard airbnb wedding in South Lake Tahoe in June! We live out of town, so we corresponded over Zoom and email before the wedding and were able to plan some great photo locations together. Kimmi is super knowledgeable about the scenery and locations around Tahoe and had great ideas. The day of the wedding, she was so kind and approachable and made everyone feel comfortable, while also capturing wonderful pictures (a great mixture of posed and candid) of the day and of the lovely Tahoe landscape. Often wedding photos can look overly posed to me, but ours look really natural- in large part because Kimmi was so easy to work (and get along) with. Everyone at our wedding has raved about the pictures she took. Definitely book Starscape Studios for your wedding!”
Planning an Airbnb Wedding in Lake Tahoe
To plan an Airbnb wedding in Lake Tahoe, start by searching for properties that are listed as suitable for events. This will ensure that the property owner is open to hosting a wedding. You can also filter your search results by the number of guests the property can accommodate, as well as the amenities it offers. Once you’ve found a property that you love, be sure to read the host’s rules and policies regarding events. Some hosts may require additional fees or a security deposit for weddings, while others may have specific restrictions on noise levels or the number of guests allowed. Below are some locations for Airbnbs that allow weddings in Lake Tahoe and the happy couples that hired us to photograph their event.

“Kimmi was great to work with! If you’re looking to hire a photographer, look no further! My fiancé and I decided to elope after having to cancel our wedding and planned our out of state elopement in a short time frame. After our initial consultation, we felt very comfortable hiring her as our photographer. She was very knowledgeable about South Tahoe and easy to talk to about what we wanted for our day. The day of the wedding our families were very impressed and kept asking where we found her. They mentioned that she was calm, confident and organized – all great qualities you want in your photographer! She has a great eye and from the teasers she sent us, we can’t wait to see more! Her pictures were very vibrant and lively. Even though we didn’t feel natural getting our photos taken, she was able to loosen us up and capture intimate moments.”
Tahoe Blue Estate Wedding
Loretta and Ted’s wedding at the Tahoe Blue Estate was a true fairytale affair. The luxurious estate, nestled in the quiet Kingsbury neighborhood in the mountains of Lake Tahoe, offered breathtaking views of the crystal-clear lake and surrounding forest. The couple exchanged vows on the estate’s spacious outdoor terrace, which was beautifully decorated with string lights and lush greenery. The reception was held in the estate’s elegant ballroom, which featured high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that provided guests with stunning views of the lake. Their in-house chef prepared a mouth-watering meal of local cuisine, which was served on elegant china and silverware. With its impeccable service and unparalleled beauty, the Tahoe Blue Estate is the perfect Lake Tahoe airbnb wedding venue for couples looking to tie the knot in style.

“Kimmi is AMAZING to say the least! She is cool, calm, collected, responsive, professional, talented, fun, and kind. She has extensive knowledge of the Tahoe area and was awesome when we decided to bring along our dog to our engagement shoot. 10/10, two thumbs up, would highly recommend. Kimmi photographed our engagement, COVID elopement, and vow renewal. We are never disappointed with her work!”
South Lake Tahoe Airbnb Backyard Wedding
Courtney chose to get ready at a rented Airbnb with her bridesmaids and two MOHs: a maid of honor and a matron of honor. From getting her hair styled to putting on a fresh face of makeup, these ladies were helping each other out at every step. Meanwhile, Jared and the groomsmen were getting ready at a separate guest house on the property. Per tradition, they chose to spend the time drinking beers and hanging out together before the ceremony.
Before the wedding ceremony, the couple decided to have a First Look on the grounds of the ceremony venue which is the backyard of their Airbnb. The white garden chairs all around them and their bridal party looking on, Jared saw his beautiful bride for the first time that day. Their Lake Tahoe wedding ceremony was beautiful, surrounded by friends, family, and even her grandmother who stopped by for a quick congratulations with her mask and gloves. You will do anything you can to share your love.
