Lake Tahoe Engagement Session at Fallen Leaf Lake
Sara and Branden’s wintery Lake Tahoe engagement session at Fallen Leaf Lake was absolutely stunning!
Before we met, Sara asked if they could bring their lovable husky along on their photography session. It turns out that Baloo (their husky) was also a part of the proposal and he’s a great sport. I always say YES to furry companions. Your pets are part of your family after all!
What we had thought would be a cloudy and snowy day turned out to have clear blue skies and no wind during their winter engagement session in South Lake Tahoe. We definitely lucked out. Our first location option was already closed for the season and the parking lot was inaccessible because of the snow. So we decided to change our plans last minute, load up the truck, and drive deeper into the snow towards the Fallen Leaf Lake campgrounds.
We hiked about half a mile in the snow to reach Fallen Leaf Lake from the trail head. Upon getting there, we were met with the most beautiful sight: the sun was just cresting the mountaintops, blue skies, and nobody else at the lake during this snowy day. The lake looked like a mirror. It reflected Mt. Tallac and the snow-crested tops back at us in a mix of colors and shades of blue. Baloo walked right into the water, not seeming to care that it is definitely freezing temperatures. It helps to have a thick fur coat that’s built for the Alaskan tundra.
I fully believe that being in nature connects us all together in a deeper way and these photos really show the love that they have for each other, the forest, and their pup. Congratulations, you two!
