Romantic Lake Tahoe Micro Wedding

South Lake Tahoe is a beautiful and unique location for a simple and intimate wedding, situated in the Sierra Nevada mountain range between California and Nevada. The area is known for its stunning natural beauty, with crystal clear lakes and dense pine forests which is perfect for a romantic and elegant wedding ceremony for those who are looking for something beautiful and yet off the beaten path.

What’s the difference between an elopement a micro wedding?

A micro wedding usually involves up to a maximum of about 20-30 guests, including close family members and a select few friends. This is different from an elopement, which involves only the couple and wedding officiant, possibly a witness depending on the state. A micro wedding in Lake Tahoe is perfect for those who are looking to celebrate with close friends and family without having to spend a lot on a large wedding. You still get the party, as most of the decorations can be DIY’d.

Lake Tahoe micro wedding celebration

Chantal and Peter’s Lake Tahoe micro wedding a beautiful and intimate event, held in their parents backyard. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, the couple exchanged vows beneath a simple wooden arch adorned with greenery and white florals that they decorated themselves. The ceremony was brief and filled with emotion and joy as the two pledged their love to one another.

DIY Cocktail Hour decorations and drinks

After the ceremony, everyone gathered in the yard for a cocktail hour which was perfect after the wedding ceremony. The couple had put together the details and reception by themselves, and the result was a charming and laid-back atmosphere. Guests sipped on champagne and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres as they mingled and congratulated the newlyweds among the pine trees. During cocktail hour, Chantal and Peter decided to take a leisurely walk through the nearby pine and aspen forest. The couple held hands and strolled along the peaceful trails, taking in the sights and sounds of the natural surroundings. They were in their own little world, basking in the joy and excitement of their newlywed status after their joyous Lake Tahoe micro wedding.

After wedding activities in Lake Tahoe

As they walked, the couple couldn’t help but marvel at the beauty of Lake Tahoe. The forest provided a serene and intimate setting for the couple to reflect on their relationship and their future together. They were surrounded by the beauty of nature, and felt grateful to be able to share this special moment in such a special place. The sun was setting over the water, casting a warm glow over the landscape. As the sun began to set, the group made their way to the pier for a quick dip in the lake. The cool water was refreshing after a day of celebrating, and the sunset provided a stunning backdrop for the occasion. After the swim, everyone gathered on the pier for hot cocoa and s’mores, huddled together against the chill of the evening.
