Autumn Wedding at The Stone House Nevada City
Nothing can stand in the way of true love and Sara and Branden are prime examples of that. The recent pandemic caused many delays in everybody’s plans, but it could not stop the happy couple from getting married and starting their new journey together.
Sara and Branden’s original wedding in 2020 was postponed due to the pandemic. However, they decided to go for a small elopement in South Lake Tahoe instead because they could not wait to become husband and wife. Their intimate and beautiful Lake Tahoe elopement was held at Valhalla Tahoe, where they were joined by their family members and beloved Husky dog Baloo. Fast forward to 2021, they decided to host a beautiful vow renewal ceremony to include the rest of their friends and relatives, and we were lucky enough to photograph their big day.Â
Sara wore a stunning white lace gown which featured a plunging neckline, sleeveless bodice and a train at the back of the dress. As for Branden, he wore a dark gray tuxedo with a plum-colored tie to go with the wedding theme and all of their flowers. The lovely bridesmaids wore the plum dresses, while the groomsmen settled with matching light grey tuxedos. Being a Nevada City wedding photographer, I have photographed many weddings and vow renewal ceremonies and this one was one of the most memorable one by far.
The vow renewal ceremony took place at The Stone House Nevada City, with the walls covered in green vines all over and cobblestones line the patio where the wedding ceremony took place. The addition of dark toned wood with the wedding aisle and barrel tables really went well with the overall theme of the party. The happy couple renewed their vows in the presence of their family and friends and shared a big kiss at the end of it, as well as a few fun photos in which they tried not to drop the bride.Â
The ceremony was followed by a lovely indoor reception at the Stone House in Nevada City. The couple enjoyed an intimate photography session inside the caves below, and we fell in love with how magical the end results were. It’s definitely a treat to be able to say you went underground in an old mining cave, in your wedding dress, on your wedding day. Afterwards Sara and Branden shared their first dance together during the reception and soon everyone else joined in the fun too!
